Vatican City, 13th April, 2010, Tuesday

The Vatican has admitted that there is a concealment of the sex abuse issue by the clergy. The Vatican heads have issued strict orders about this matter. The spokesperson of the Vatican told that such reports should be passed on to the people that are associated with affairs of the law across nations.

The policy was earlier adopted in a conference of bishops across US. This happened when a series of cases erupted across the US in 2002. The Vatican has issued regulations that the clergy needs to show obedience to the civil laws in this matter. The new guideline that was posted on the website of the Vatican clearly said that there has to be a proper approach to the authorities with an explicit policy. There has been an intense pressure on pope Benedict 16 to issue strict measures with respect to these issues.

The secret reports say that many church officials have not been checked since decades although they have been actively involved in the sex scandals associated with the Roman Catholic Church. As per the Vatican analyst Thomas Reese, these guidelines will hold the parishioners and bishops to account in case of any scandal associated with that particular parish. As per the Jesuit priest at the Woodstock theological seminary, this verdict is welcome and this is for the first time the church has shown solidarity with the law in this matter.
